Pureweb Mailbox Setup
Synchronise your mailbox with any IMAP or POP compatible email app
We offer dedicated step-by-step guides for common email apps. If we don't have a dedicated guide for your app, please refer to the instructions below.
Important information
These instructions apply to our new email infrastructure, scheduled July 2026. If you are still on our legacy email hosting please contact us for instructions. If you are unsure if this applies to your account please log in above to see personalised information.
Email configuration
Log in at the top of this page to ensure these instructions are accurate for your account.
We recommend using IMAP to receive mail, as this keeps your mailbox in sync across all of your devices. POP is supported but not recommended for most situations. See the POP Protocol section for details.
Email apps will often prompt for an account type, presenting options such as Google, Microsoft Office, Exchange, etc. Look for an option called Other or IMAP for configuring your mailbox.
Enter the following settings:
Incoming Mail (IMAP)
- Server/Hostname
- imap.cloudisp.net
- Port
- 993
- Security/Encryption
- SSL/TLS This setting can be presented in different ways, as a dropdown or checkbox, and may use terms such as Secure Connection, SSL and/or TLS
- Username/Email
- Enter your email address Some apps ask for email address, some for Username. Your email address is your username, so these are interchangeable.
- Password
- Enter your mailbox password
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
- Server
- smtp.cloudisp.net
- Port
- 465
- Connection security
- SSL/TLS
- Username/Email
- Enter your email address
- Password
- Enter your mailbox password
If you receive a message about an invalid or insecure SSL certificate, double-check you're using the exact server names listed above.
If you have trouble connecting, you can also try port 587 or 25 with the STARTTLS option instead of port 465 with SSL/TLS.
Once correctly configured, your email app will start synchronising with your Pureweb mailbox.
POP Protocol
Some older email apps only support the POP protocol. Unlike IMAP, POP does not keep your mailbox in sync across multiple devices. Messages are typically downloaded to a single device and deleted from the server. To configure your account to use POP, enter the following settings instead of the IMAP settings above:
- Server
- pop.cloudisp.net
- Port
- 995
- Connection security
- SSL/TLS
- Username/Email
- Enter your email address
- Password
- Enter your mailbox password
